I suspect the above made hokey use of a stretch of black nylon hosiery. Old school, that. Very. My preference (for whenever I happen to again like this sort of thing) is a Nikon No. 1 Soft, which I think more subtle. Of course, it’s easy, actually seductive, to go overboard these days in the digital darkroom.
Then too, if and when I ever again shoot a project equestrian portrait, I hope the approach will be the really old fashioned, and the three of us out dawn and nine o’clock, if that late, or afternoon “sweet light” to dusk.
Really, I love getting the atmosphere to surround the photography by aiming for it and going out in it.
